A guided walk around ChatGPT Work. We’ll explore each feature, where it lives and how to use it.
Connect your folders
The big one. On the desktop app it can reach real folders on your computer and work on what is actually in them, with your permission.
Skills
How to use them, and what actually goes into one. If you know GPTs, this is the bit that is different.
Apps and plugins
Gmail, Drive, Calendar, whatever you use every day. ChatGPT calls them apps and plugins interchangeably, so I will show you which is which.
Scheduled tasks
Set something to run hourly, daily or weekly, and it happens without you opening anything.
Sites
ChatGPT can now build and host a simple site from what you give it. One of the newest features, and we will have a proper look at it.
By the end you’ll know how it all fits together, and understand how to set up your own personal AI assistant.
What’s the difference between Chat, Work and Codex?
If you have been typing questions into ChatGPT and then copying the answers out to finish the job yourself, Work is the part you have not met yet. No technical background needed, and nothing to install to turn up.
ChatQuick answers, ideas and drafts. You still do the work.
WorkFinished jobs. You give it the outcome, it uses your files and apps, and it produces the thing.
CodexThe third one, and the one most business owners have never opened. I use it, and I will show you why.
